Chaque étape de la marche du croyant comporte un danger particulier. La vie nouvelle qui est en nous mène une guerre constante contre tout ce qui s'oppose à sa croissance. Au stade physique, c'est une guerre contre les péchés ; au stade de l'âme, c'est une bataille contre la vie naturelle ; et enfin, au niveau spirituel, c'est un assaut contre l'ennemi surnaturel.

Each stage of the believer's walk possesses its particular hazard. The new life within us wages a constant war against all which opposes its growth. During the physical stage, it is a war against sins; in the soulish phase, it is a battle against the natural life; and lastly, on the spiritual level, it is an onslaught against the supernatural enemy.
